Der Weg Nach Eden

The Road to Eden is an Austrian documentary film by Robert-Adrian Pejo from 1995 and deals with the question of what happens to people after death and what happens to their bodies.

The film was shown on free TV in the late 1990s and was presumably shown uncut. While there have already been home cinema releases abroad, they have yet to be released here.    * What happens to us in the morgue when we're lying on the dissection table? What happens in our bodies in the last hours before death? Will we be prepared for it? This film depicts a day in the life of the chief pathologist in a Budapest morgue. We see him opening and dissecting the dead. Disturbing images that we would all like to repress. How does this man handle his job? How can he then sit at the table with his family, eat, laugh, and caress his daughter with the same hands that had just been rummaging through a corpse? The Road to Eden - a film without taboos.*.
